Your child
Your child will be allocated a keyworker when they start. This person will work with you to make sure that the childcare we provide is right for your child’s particular needs and interests. When your child first starts, she will help your child to settle, and you can contact your keyworker at any time to discuss any issues or concerns you may have. You will be invited into Pre-school six weeks after your child has started to talk to your child’s keyworker and see the records kept about your child.
Importance
Many children from Bradway Pre-school go onto Bradway Primary School. We have transition arrangements with local schools in the area.
Pre-school is often your child’s first experience of independence so parents are welcome to stay until he or she settles. For some children this may take several weeks, but please feel free to call in or phone at any time for reassurance.
We are a member of the Early Years Alliance and follow its guidelines and are registered with the Sheffield Young Children’s Service.
Children can come to Pre-school until the age of 4. Unfortunately, we cannot accept children once they have reached the age they could start at primary school.
Our latest Ofsted inspection took place in October 2023 and we had ‘Good’ outcome.

Sessions and prices
Information about our term-time sessions and pricing is below. We have morning and afternoon sessions available as well as full day sessions. A packed lunch will be required for all children attending the afternoon session and a full day. Milk is provided free of charge

Nursery grant and 30 free hours
Eligible working parents can claim Working Parent Entitlement. Please see www.beststartinlife.gov.uk for more information on eligibility and how to claim this.
From the term after a child turns three, all children will be able to claim 15 hours Nursery Grant for 38 weeks per year.
You can apply for Working Parent Entitlement if:
- The child you are applying for lives with you.
- You earn at least £203 per week and your total taxable income is less than £100,000 per year.
- Your partner is working and earns at least £203 per week and less than total taxable income of £100,000 per year.
We offer five places of 30 hours free childcare for children the year before they start school. These are allocated firstly to those children who are already at pre-school, and secondly to those new to pre-school.
The 30 hours can be split between settings and details can be found at HMRC. Funded hours are between 9.00am and 3.00pm. If spaces for the 30 hours free childcare are full, then your child can be put onto the waiting list.

Bradway Pre-school is open term time, Monday to Friday. Our session times and prices are listed above. Fees are payable on a termly basis at the beginning of each half term.
